May and October 1 through November 15 offer anglers a great opportunity to put some great eating fish in the cooler!
These sea bass trips typically take us 20 to 40 miles offshore in search of bigger fish than are generally found on the structures closer to home. Tackle for these trips consists of medium to medium heavy conventional rods with 30lb braid capable of handling 8-10oz sinkers. We use two to three hook rigs with 6/0 octopus style hooks. Rental rods and rigs are available aboard, as are sinkers.
Squid is provided aboard, but anglers are welcome to bring clams or cut bait as well. Spring trips in May will usually see ling (red hake) in the mix to spice up the catch, and October and early November trips usually see porgies(scup) and bluefish mixing in to add to the fillet bags heading home.
